  1. Ooh! I gotta play this when I'm not at work (where the computer system blocks YouTubes so we don't waste ALL our time.) My daughter's name is Blaze (after the infamous stripper. Don't blame me -- my ex-wife chose it.) I wonder whether she's seen this? She's a punk rocker, so perhaps not. She's Down Under for a Christmas visit, so I shall have to play this for her.

  2. This Blaze is singer-songwriter Blaze Foley, an old drinking buddy of Townes Van Zandt who got gunned down by some dude with a shotgun who claimed "self defense" despite the fact that he had the shotgun, was in Blaze's house, and Blaze was unarmed. 3. 'specially if the musician is somebody like blaze. i knew him, and loved his ass but blaze never made that an easy thing to do.

him and townes together was almost always a bad idea. they brought out the most immature and childish sides of each other.

then, in a stupor somewhere, like the only bathroom in a crowded house, they'd produce something exquisite.

as many times as i have tossed them out of the house, there were many other times when i stood there in jaw dropping amazement. and laughed. i don't think i have ever in my life laughed as deep and long as the times i was watching those two stumble through trying to make a little sense of the world.
