New spelling for "black"

Teabaggers and tighty righties have a new way to spell the word "black". They now spell it "F-R-A-U-D". As in, "our FRAUD President". Usually followed by references to his Kenyan birthplace and Muslim religion.

Alrighty, then!

WTF?!

So John Derbyshire, the World's Dumbest Conservative Asshole, tries to be, like, racially progressive with a "conversation on race" and makes himself look like a racist moron.

Here's the only conversation that John Derbyshire needs to have with his kids: "Black people are people."

That's it. And his kids, if raised in a multicultural area, would just reply, "Duh!" because they have friends of all races and ethnicities already and that's been true since an early age.

But of course, John Derbyshire's kids weren't raised in a multicultural area, they were raised in a gated community that might as well have had a sign at the entryway saying "no blacks allowed", and not allowed to go out and play with any children of another race because they might get hurt or snatched or something. Because, y'know, there's all those scary brown people out there, and they're all criminals who want to hurt white people, so our precious little white snowflakes must be protected from them, yo...

At which point John Derbyshire chimes in with, "but... but... crime statistics!" Uhm, statistics describe probabilities across an entire population, not probability that any given person is going to do something. 90% of spree killers and mass murderers have been white. But I can assure you that the chance of me becoming a spree killer and mass murderer, considering I have difficulty with killing a cockroach and when dealing with a mouse humanely did catch-and-release to make him someone else's problem, is somewhere between none and zero. Stereotyping all white people as mass murderers because they've historically been the perpetrators of mass murder is wrong. Same deal as stereotyping all black people as thugs. People are people, and you have to deal with the person in front of you, not the stereotype. Just sayin'.

Tired, and racists

Still disgusted that racists are upset that the character of Rue in The Hunger Games is played by a perfectly adorable little black girl -- just as described in the book. I haven't seen the movie, and won't see the movie, because I've read the book and that's always a recipe for disappointment, but this is just a sad commentary on the fact that racism isn't dead even though there's no reason for it to exist in today's America.

Dang I'm tired today. Haven't been getting enough sleep, I guess. Luckily the project at work is winding down to the point where I can work normal hours now, I was having to work off hours because I had to do some scheduled service outages and you can't do that while people are at work, and the result was late nights and disrupted sleep routines. Grr.

So who cares if he's Hispanic?

The Faux News personalities are whining that George Zimmerman, the cracker who stalked and murdered Trayvon Martin, couldn't be a racist because he self-identifies as Hispanic (despite the fact that Faux News' inbred white trash racist viewers apparently approve of what Zimmerman did). At which point I say, WTF? Look, people. Hispanics and blacks hate, hate, HATES the other. Hispanics view blacks as lazy indolent ghetto thugs, blacks view Hispanics as interlopers who came to America and stole all the jobs that blacks traditionally did. Sort of how the Norteños and Sureños view each other, now that I think about it (the former being the American-born Hispanics, the latter being the Mexico-born Hispanics).

So anyhow, it doesn't matter whether Zimmerman self-identifies as white or Hispanic, the fact that he muttered "fucking coons" under his breath on the 911 tape pretty much seals that case. Despite which, the local PD continues to insist that their investigation or lack thereof was quite appropriate given Florida law which basically allows you to kill anyone, anywhere, who makes you feel threatened even by just standing there and making no moves towards you. Luckily the Feds aren't constrained by Florida law when investigating hate crimes... heh. Zimmerman better have $100K handy like *now* or he's going to be spending some time in Club Fed.

Cracker kills black kid for strolling while black

... and gets away with it, claiming he felt threatened by a black kid walking around in his all-white gated community (kid was half-white and was visiting his white father). Because that's all ya gotta say under Florida law to justify killing someone, and the all white jury would agree, so what are the cops supposed to do -- arrest him and charge him with murder? When the only other witness to the incident, a black kid armed with Skittles of Mass Destruction (omg!), is, well, *dead*?

This reminds me of some incident that would have happened back in the Civil Rights era if a black kid had tried walking around in a white neighborhood. Yah, things sure have changed a lot since then -- nowadays they don't bother caperin' round in the woods wearing pointy hats and bedsheets, that was just sorta cosmetic frippery anyhow and looked vaguely ridiculous. But that's pretty much the *only* difference in some parts of the nation.

He was just a nigger with a roach

It ain't as if Ramarley Graham was a REAL American, he wasn't white, he wasn't middle-aged, he wasn't rich, so as far as most New Yorkers are concerned he's just another nigger executed by the NYPD for the crime of being young, black, and havin' a marijuana cigarette, nothing more than a cockroach exterminated and good riddance. Human? Naw, niggers are just dumb monkeys, they ain't human, right?

But you know how that goes. It's the NYPD. You know, the guys who go 'round wearin' t-shirts that say Kill'em All and let God Sort'em Out. And apparently the majority of New Yorkers are fine with that, as long as it ain't middle-class white people or rich people being murdered by the NYPD. So it goes.

Atlanta administrative judge issues his recommendation

Remember the "trial" that was actually a hearing before an administrative trial judge who was charged with issuing a recommendation to the Georgia Secretary of State? Well, he issued his statement to the Birthers today:

Basically, his ruling said that the birther's "evidence" isn't -- in the words of administrative law, their "evidence" has "no probative value". I.e., it's speculations, made up silliness, unproven / unprovable nonsense, nothing that counts as evidence in the legal meaning of the term. A state administrative judge doesn't have to comply with the full multi-volume stack of books that comprise the Federal Rules of Evidence, but in every state you can't just come in and say "The President's birth certificate is forged!" -- you have to prove it, with actual evidence. Otherwise you're just expressing an opinion, and an opinion isn't proof of anything other than that, like every asshole on this planet, you got an opinion.

And in case you're wondering, even if you're a world-renowned expert on Photoshop, saying "the President's birth certificate is clearly photoshopped!" is *still* just an opinion. Under the rules of evidence of *any* state, you have to *prove* it's photoshopped, your opinion is just an opinion, which is worthless unless you can produce the actual person who photoshopped it and corroborating evidence that he indeed was there and did the job.

If there was anything the birthers had that met the most rudimentary of the rules regarding what comprises evidence in a court of law, Obama would likely be off the ballot in Georgia. But they have nothing. They will always have nothing. Because their actual problem with Obama isn't where he was born. Their actual problem is what he was born -- i.e., black.

Happy Token Perfect Negro Day!

As with most Americans, I spent MLK day at work. Because hey, it's only a holiday for a *darkie*, not for a *real* American, so get into those cubicles and onto those assembly lines, wage slaves, and punch out some product for us!

But anyhow, this is the day when we celebrate Token Perfect Negro, who was this nice kindly non-threatening well-dressed black man who, like, wasn't scary and shit like those scary black people demanding social justice and jobs. Token Perfect Negro wasn't one of those scary criminal Negros who did scary criminal shit and such, he wasn't a rabble rouser, he was non-violent and non-threatening and who could hate him, after all?

Of course, the real Martin Luther King Jr. was quite adamant in his demands for social justice and jobs for all Americans, was non-violent but non-violent in a quite intrusive way that got into people's faces and made them pay attention, and there was one helluva lot of bigots, racists, and all-around nasty people who felt threatened by his very existence, to the extent that the FBI had a file on MLK Jr. that was a foot thick. And yes, he spent time in jail for crimes, though the crimes he was put into jail for were crimes of violating the apartheid laws, but still, if the definition of a criminal is someone convicted of a crime, MLK Jr. was a criminal.

And the world is all the better for that. But of course MLK Jr. isn't the person we're not-celebrating today, the person we're not-celebrating today is Token Perfect Negro. Alrighty, then!

Those darkies are just savages

They're uncivilized and ignorant and not as good as us, so it's okay to do drone strikes on their villages and kill lots of women and children.

Incidentally, the young programming prodigy who was at nine years of age the world's youngest MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) recently died after an epileptic seizure and coma. She will be buried near where she was born, near Faisalabad, Pakistan. Her name was Arfa Karim Randhawa, and she died in Lahore, Pakistan, after complications in the ICU.

Yeah, those darkies are all ignorant savages.

Disgusting racists

Pretty much every nation has a law that says if a citizen of that nation marries a foreign national, the foreign national can get a visa to live in the home country and can eventually get citizenship. So, what would you say about a law that said you could marry anybody you wanted to marry and bring them home to live as long as the person you want to marry isn't a Jew? You'd be outraged at such a racist law, I hope, and make comparisons to Hitler and maybe even mention that Hitler's propaganda referred to Jews as "cockroaches" and thus Nazi Germany outlawed marriages between "Aryans" and Jews because, really, who marries a cockroach?

But this is just a theoretical question, you say, because surely no modern nation would pass some racist law that singled out a single ethnicity for special discriminatory treatment. The international outcry would be deafening. Uhm, except a supposedly modern nation did pass such a law. I'm still waiting for the outcry, though, because the nation is Israel, and the ethnicity being discriminated against is Palestinians. Yeppers, if you're an Israeli citizen and marry an Italian, you can bring your spouse home. But if you're an Israeli citizen and marry a Palestinian... forgetaboutit!

So waiting for the international outrage in... oh wait. I forgot. Condemning racism means you're anti-Semitic. Alrighty, then!

Trials are overrated

I mean, they sometimes result in people going free. When everybody knows that the police would *never* arrest an innocent person, and thus this results in dusky fellers walkin' the streets who ought to be in jail, not outside jail leering at our white womens and taunting us good God-fearin' white men with their long... err... trombones.

It just ain't right, ain't right I say! Which is why we need this law that says the military can lock up anybody, any time, without trial, even an American citizen, just by claiming that said citizen is a "terrorist". I mean, I feel terrorized by them dusky-skinned fellers, and by them young hippie folks with their drum circles and shit too, so why shouldn't we be able to lock one of'em up without trial anytime some white person somewhere feels threatened? I mean, it ain't as if they're real Americans, god-fearing white male Americans, after all!

Now, some fellers say, "well, they can pass this law, but the Supreme Court will just say it violates the Constitution and nullify it." You mean a Supreme Court packed with Republican-nominated judges? *SNORT!* All I gotta say is, are you fucking kiddin' me? Really? Alrighty, then!

Why are today's protests so lame?

Earlier I pointed out that the civil rights protests were done by dignified looking people waving signs expressing an agenda advocating specific actions (ending segregated schools, voting rights, equal job opportunities, etc.), backed up by model legislation introduced in Congress and by some of the best legal minds in the country playing the courts like a piano. Then I pointed out that most modern protests look like a friggin' zoo, a buncha slovenly young people dressed like schoolchildren on a daytrip out to the city with no connection to any agenda or strategy whether legislative or legal. Where’s the signs demanding their agenda? Where's their sample legislation? Why are they dressed like slovenly children on a day trip to the city, rather than like dignified grownups? As a dignified grownup, how can I take them seriously?

The question is: Why are modern protests so lame? Personally, I blame the anti-war protesters of the 1960′s who think they ended the Vietnam War with their circus and continue to influence tactics. They didn’t end the Vietnam War. That was Walter Cronkite and large numbers of “serious people” who figured out that the only way to “win” the war was to invade North Vietnam, which had a big chance of inviting both Chinese and Soviet intervention that likely would have escalated to nuclear war (indeed we now know that threats to use nuclear weapons were made by *both* sides, and that the Soviets threatened to invade West Germany if we invaded North Vietnam). All the hippies did was give the right wing a convenient scapegoat so that they wouldn’t have to admit that the U.S. got beat like a drum by a buncha pajama-wearin’ slopes — i.e., it allowed them to maintain their racism against Southeast Asians. Instead, Hanoi Jane and the hippies ended the war.

But y’know, I never seen a dead body come back from Vietnam that had been killed by Jane Fonda. They all got killed by NVA or VC guns or grenades or bombs or booby traps. Funny, that Hanoi Jane gets all the credit for winning the war for North Vietnam, despite the fact that, like, she didn’t kill a single soldier, while the people who did win the war don’t get credit at all from racist America, which *still* refuses to admit that a buncha pajama-wearin’ slopes beat’em like a drum. But the VC and NVA won. They did. But racist lefties and racist righties both refuse to admit that fact and insist that the lefties ended the Vietnam War, not the NVA and VC, because apparently brown people could *never* have, like, actually beat the good ole’ white folk of the U S of A. Funny, huh?

So anyhow, we aren't going to get anywhere with this protest stuff until we tell the boomers and their hippy bullshit to go take a hike and start behaving like Serious People with a clear political agenda and with the legal resources to back up that agenda. That's just the facts. That's how the world works, and no amount of slovenly young people getting beat up by fat middle-aged cops is gonna change that.

False equivalencies

One of the things the right wing likes to do is false equivalences. This ties into the so-called media's propensity to report on "both sides" of a story even when there isn't another side. If the Flat Earth Society held a press conference, our lame-stream media would dutifully report "the Flat Earth Society today presented scientific proof that the Earth was flat. Other opinions differ." Err, except it's not an opinion, the Earth is *round*. Or at least sorta ovaloid.

So anyhow, a lot of us have pointed out that the Teabaggers and their poster child, Michelle Bachmann, are, to put it bluntly, batshit crazy. I mean, what else can you say about people who go around ranting "keep your government hands off my Medicare"?! So the teabaggers fire back and say that calling them crazy is exactly the same as calling Barrack Obama a nigger.

Uh, excuse me? Err... yes, Barrack *is* black. And that matters... why? In the meantime, the fact that Michelle Bachmann is nuttier than a bag of peanuts does matter. Saying that President Obama has curly hair is focusing on something irrelevant to his ability to perform the duties of the Presidency. Saying that Michelle Bachmann has crazy ideas utterly divorced from reality is focusing on something very relevant indeed to her ability to perform the duties of the Presidency. To say that calling attention to the color of the President's skin is exactly the same as calling attention to Michelle Bachmann's tenuous connection with reality is like comparing the fact that Charles Manson is a murderous creep to the fact that President Obama has big ears. The former fact -- that Charlie is a deranged lunatic who wants to kill people -- is quite important in making a decision about what his proper fate should be. The size of the President's ears... uhm, what does that got to do with anything?

Yet the Republican Party commissars keep spitting out these false equivalencies, and the lamestream media dutifully reports "Democrats claim that Michelle Bachmann is crazy, while Republicans point out that Obama has dark skin" as if those are equivalent statements. They're not. One statement directly addresses Bachmann's fitness for office. The other is irrelevant to anybody except racists and bigots. And you'd think that people would quit falling for these false equivalencies, but, alas, 50% of all people are below average, and average ain't so smart nowadays...

Race, Obama, and the Tea Party

As I've previously pointed out here, Obama is basically an Eisenhower Republican. From what I can tell from his core beliefs, he is to the right of Richard Nixon, and only barely leftward of Ronald Reagan. There is nothing about Obama's beliefs that are in any way out of the mainstream of traditional conservative thought, whether we're talking about the budget (he wants it balanced), about preserving American industrial capability (remember, it was Reagan who bailed out Harley-Davidson!), or welfare (he wants workfare, not welfare -- makes him pretty compatible with Reagan and to the right of Nixon, who wanted a guaranteed minimum income for all Americans).

So why do I keep having these awkward conversations with folks back home in Jesusland? The ones where, when the subject of Obama comes up, they say "I don't know why, I'm not a racist, but he scares me, I don't trust him"? Why the rabid Tea Party types who've made it their cause celebre' to not only paint Obama as an eeeevil soshalist Demon-crat (they did the same to Bill Clinton after all), but to paint Obama as somehow un-American, foreign, other? Why the incessant refrain of "I want my country back?"

I mean, some of the Clinton hatred got pretty bizarre, but I was around during the Clinton years too, and it never got *this* bizarre. I mean, folks bashed him as a horndog, as corrupt, all sorts of things, but they never claimed they were *scared* of him or that they wanted to re-claim their country from him. But then, Clinton is white. And Obama is black. And that makes all the difference, even though people in Jesusland don't want to know that because then that would imply they were racist and they don't *feel* racist, why, they even have a black friend at work and have even invited him over for dinner once or twice! I declayah!

What they're *really* scared of is what white oil field workers weren't shy about saying back in the days when the first blacks came on board due to affirmative action. "Them niggers, they're taking all our jobs." And now "they" have taken the Presidency. It's all about white privilege. Whites deserve those jobs, how dare some darky take our jobs! But of course today racism is not socially acceptable, so the Tea Baggers and their ilk talk in code, while ordinary folk in Jesusland don't know why because they don't want to know why, but the fact that there is a President Obama makes them very, very uncomfortable, and quite eager to embrace Tea Bagger notions. So it goes.

The march of progress

Above: President Obama comforts a woman in the aftermath of the Missouri tornados

Fifty years ago, they would have lynched any black man who dared hug a white woman.

Think about that. Yeah, the regressives have made a ton of political progress over the past fifty years, but on the social front? They're losing. They're losing big. Homosexuality is no longer a disease to be cured, women work outside the home and have careers and some even choose to not be wombs on legs (gasp!), and it's no longer acceptable to use the N-word in polite company. Why, one of those darkies can even be elected preznit of teh United States!

Is it any wonder why the right-tards are blowing fuses and trying their best to blow up the country? Their ideas have largely been relegated to the dust-bin of history. They're just trying to make sure the rest of us end up there too.

Afterbirthers

Well, the folks who said that the birthers wouldn't fold up and go home were certainly right. The birthers (shall we call them "afterbirthers" now?) are now saying that the Obama birth certificate presented on national television was fake. They know this because Obama is a Negro, and all Negros are liars. And also because of some loony theories about how it's not the right format or has the number of the beast encoded into it (no, not joking, WorldNutDaily actually said that!) or silliness like that, even though the State of Hawaii says it's valid, even though various people including one of the nurses who worked in the hospital have come forward and say they saw the newborn Obama there, and so forth.

This is what comprises political discourse on the right today -- spittle-flecked racist allegations that the President of the United States is part of some vast conspiracy to lie to the nation because, well, because all them darkies are liars, didnja know? Sad to say, the only conspiracy I see here is *stupidity*.

Gotta go, hear some trumpets, the rapture must be starting! And, uhm, we do have a way of determining the eligibility of someone to serve as President. It's called the vote. We The People decided Obama was eligible. Apparently that doesn't satisfy World Nut Daily's Joseph "Crazy Joe" Farah and the afterbirthers, who are bound and determined that *they*, not the voters, are the ones who shall decide whether anybody's allowed to run for President or not. Hmm, you know someone else who has the same opinion? Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran, who personally determines the eligibility of every candidate for higher office in Iran. Great company you got there, birfers!

Obama releases his long-form birth certificate.

Will the release of this document change the mind of birthers? Of course not. World Nut Daily already doubled down on the crazy and announced, "Even Hawaii birth won't make Obama eligible".
