Anathem coming

Neal Stephenson has a new book, which sounds fascinating. His Baroque Cycle novels bored me silly, but it sounds like he's back to his old tricks. If you haven't read Snow Crash or The Diamond Age, *do so* -- more ideas per page than you'll find anywhere outside a compilation of the writings of Stephen Hawking, but they're fun.

  1. I contend that "The Confusion" (the second volume in the Baroque Cycle) is one of the best pirate novels ever. But the only good parts of "Quicksilver" were those with Half-Cocked Jack and "System of the World" almost went unfinished, it was so slow.
