Clogged sink

I had trouble shaving and brushing my teeth this morning...

-- Badtux the Cat-owned Penguin

  1. I think they only way to get a cat out of a sink is to place a hamper of freshly folded clean towels nearby. And then try to get them to stay OUT of it.

Half the time, I can only sit in my home office chair if I shake the treat bag and give both cats a bribe... when only one ever sits in my chair. Got to be fair.

  2. My morning routine is to get up, use the bathroom, start the coffee, and feed the cats. Then, while they're busy deciding if the fresh food is worth nibbling, I run back in the bedroom and make the bed. Otherwise I'd get so much "help" it'd never get made.

  3. Oh, and Nangleator, a hamper full of street clothes that you'd prefer not be all covered with cat fur will work just as well. A hamper full of underwear will be ignored.

  4. I keep a squirt bottle handy, it moves cats fast.

  5. The problem is obvious, 'Tux; there's a big hairball clogging the drain.

  6. My cats are allowed on my bed, their bed, the floor, and nowhere else in here.

  7. Phil, yeah, think I should call a plumber?

Karen, my automatic feeder feeds the cats *before* I get up. Otherwise they wake me up demanding to be fed. The problem is that they leave me alone to go eat their food, then by the time I've drank my coffee and showered, they're ready to Occupy again.

Regarding laundry baskets, my clothes go straight from the dryer to the hanger or shelf or drawer where they belong. Otherwise I'd report for work looking like my sink there -- somewhat hairy :).

BBC, think I should get Officer John Pike to deal with the kittehs? He believes in spray bottles too :).

Nangleator, I'm a bit less... indulgent... towards the kittehs. I gently picked up TMF and placed him outside the bathroom, then firmly shut the door. Mencken had already left by the time I shut the door -- TMF had sulked off, Mencken was curious about where TMF was going.

  8. I kid you not, there is a website devoted to nothing but pictures of cats in sinks.

I saw it a couple of years ago.

My cat would get some unexpected flying lessons.

  9. When I see that, I see a cat who is asking for a bath. And *that* is why I never had a cat of mine do that to me more than once :)

  10. Awe. TMF is too nice a kitteh to be mean to him like that, you folks should be ashamed of yourself for being so mean to a furry purry loving kitteh, sob! I pick him up respectfully and move him to some other place when he's in a place I need to be, 'cause I'm just a nice guy, I guess. He doesn't seem to mind.

  11. LOL! I can see who wears the tail in your family.

  12. When I was a kid, I couldn't play basketball worth a damn... I was always throwing up airballs. Oh, wait, that's not exactly what cats do...

  13. Cat hairs will certainly clog a drain - especially when they're still attached to the damned cat.

  14. The only good thing is that my bathroom sink is too small for George to snooze in.
