H1Z1 virus

Five local schools here in the SF Bay Area are shut down because of the H1N1 swine flu virus. As I've previously pointed out, there currently appears to be no indication that this virus has sufficient virulence to create a 1918-style mass death even if it proved to be as deadly as the 1918 virus (not likely, in any modern society where there is sufficient access to anti-inflammatories to keep people from drowning in their own inflamed lung tissues).

On the other hand, all it would take would be a single mutation... such as the H1Z1 mutation...

Gotta go. Need to clean and oil my Mossberg 12 gauge pump and make sure I have sufficient shells for the upcoming zombie apocalypse. If you need me, I'll be hiking out in the national forest far from civilization...

  2. Did a Penguin Zombie Apocalypse already occur? When I moused over that picture of penguins in your right-hand sidebar, they started following me - in a decidely shambling, menacing manner. I'm pretty sure I heard them squawking "BRAAAAAAAIINS....."

Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.

WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.
