Republicans can't dance

Wonkette reports that Republicans have been sighted once again making crappy attempts at "rap" music and accomplishing only the task of being really, really bad. So bad that I won't even embed the YouTube video here for fear that it will make my blog explode into flames or somethin'. Yeah, that bad.

Let's face it -- there ain't a helluva lot of musical talent on the Republican bench. There's Ted Nugent and there's... uhm... Ted Nugent. So pretty much any attempt at "Republican music" ends up in disaster like this (unlike songs from the other point of view). But what else can you expect from folks whose core religion is the almighty dollar, and whose prevailing emotion is hatred of anybody who isn't like them?

  1. Maybe you aren't old enough to remember, but Pat Boone is a great Republican music talent. Why just a few years back he put out a heavy metal album. Great cover art.

  2. Yeah, I'm sure Pat Boone would do a great rap song for the Republicans that would, like, really get the younger set stoked at how hip the Republicans really are. Eminem, step aside, the new master is waiting in the wings!

    Thanks for the laugh :).

  3. And there's also that country singer. You know the one I'm talking about: the guy who sang about puttin' a boot in their ass, 'cuz it's the American Way? Yeah, that douche.

Honestly though, when you started talking about no-talent white-boy Republican hip hop, I assumed you were referring to these dingbats. I should have realized that there are many, many seats in the Clown Car.

  4. @Aaron: Bizarrely enough, Toby Keith, the boot in your ass song guy, claims he's a Democrat, despite that song, which I imagine I'd call horrid if I ever heard it. South Park parodies are as close as I've come ("Where were you when they built the ladder to heaven…911, etc.)
