And the Cat-owned penguin? Reading what? How's your leg?
ReplyDeleteThe penguin has a couple of books on his nightstand ready to read but is not in the process of doing so right now.
ReplyDeleteThe leg is pretty much where it should be right now. Very light use, basically just stretching the muscle very slightly to keep the scar tissue from bunching up and making it tear more easily in the future, limited walking as part of that, and that's the recipe for the next week. After that I can start doing some more energetic rehab work on it. Probably I'll start out with light work on the stationary bike, the very lightest setting and pushing on the pedal with my toe to actually use the healing muscle a little. Then after a week of that, ramp up the setting a bit. At that time I can start walking more normally. A few weeks of that, and I should be back to normal, except that now I know I can't do some things that I used to do (sigh, getting older sucks, too bad the alternative sucks even more).

ReplyDeleteAnd he loves you too, Laura. He loves *everybody*. When I was selling my house in Phoenix, the real estate guy came out to inspect the house and see whether he could sell it for what I needed. He reported that TMF was right there beside him all the way, and that when he spread his papers out on the kitchen table to fill them in, TMF jumped up there and inspected his papers for him while purring happily.
ReplyDeleteThen the cable guy came out to hook up my cable modem. So he hooks it up and gets no signal, and is on the phone with the call center, and is on hold. Next thing I know, TMF is writhing happily on his back while the cable guy is playing with him. TMF is just a big friendly cuddly purr-baby (emphasis on the *big*), even if he *does* occasionally do stuff like eat $99 headphones (sigh!).
