Aggressive grooming

The Mighty Fang is a vicious kitty. When confronted with another cat, he viciously attacks said other cat with... the tongue of mass fur grooming. Here the irascible Mencken was just trying to catch a few rays from the sun, and the Mighty Fang came up to him and started... grooming him. And when he tried to wiggle away from that pink tongue of raspy hair displacement, The Mighty Fang put his paw up and held his head steady. Oooh, the Mighty Fang is just so mean!

Finally Mencken had enough of that "grooming" stuff: He shoved TMF away and is threatening to shred TMF with his uplifted paw. Meanwhile, TMF is just sitting there saying, "who, me?" like nothing had happened...

Yeah, trying to raise my cat blogging hit count because having those other people getting more hits than these sweet kitties is... ick. Just ick.

  1. How cute! TMF is definitely lower in the kitty hierarchy there. Thanks, that was refreshing.

  2. I'm not so sure of that. When I feed the cats, TMF gets first choice of food bowl, Mencken waits patiently by until I put food into the second bowl (and if I never put food in the second bowl, he waits until TMF is finished eating). TMF just likes grooming other creatures. When my mom visited and brought her stupid little blind miniature poodle dog with her, TMF held that creature down and started grooming it too. Almost gave my mother a heart attack laughing :-).

Honestly, I don't think there's any heirarchy at all between Mencken and TMF. Mencken is only 12 pounds (he looks bigger than that because he is fluffy, but he isn't as big as he looks), TMF is 18 pounds, so TMF outweighs Mencken significantly, but Mencken is far meaner because Mencken is a former feral while TMF has always had a loving home. It seems to even out -- ornery little cuss vs. big sweet lunk.

  4. Heh. Lurch, that's how TMF wakes me up every morning to feed him. 18 pounds of kitty galumphing upon one's chest and starting to knead does tend to motivate a person to get up and feed said kitty!

  5. poor Mencken. I don't blame him for being annoyed. reminds me of when my mother used to grab me & try to wash my face or comb my hair.

  7. You can tell he's incredibly mean... After all, the name -- The Mighty Fang -- gives it away!
