Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.
WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.
Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment.
Another way to look at it is that you folks of the right and left coasts are in a recession. Those of us in the middle are stuck in the Great Bush Depression and probably won't see any job growth or recovery until after Obama finishes his 2nd term.

"Any Questions?"
ReplyDeleteActually, yes. How can 51% of Americans own half the wealth and the 400 richest families own the other half?
Phil, this circle isn't a whole pie, it's just saying that the 400 wealthiest Americans own as much wealth as the entire bottom 51% of Americans. It doesn't say anything about the other 48.9% of Americans.

ReplyDeletewhere did you get that chart?
I wish I could remember where I got this, but I read that those 400 increased their wealth on average by $1.5 billion during the Bush years.
This total is at the same order of magnitude as the Stimulus package (mostly unspent, but that's another story,) or the cost of the Iraq war.
Austrians think this is just peachy.
