Passing out

I came across this youngster while looking for something else. According to her YouTube profile she's 19 years old and in France, but she does a pretty darn good job with the acoustic guitar and sings great too. And it's so cute when she pauses to scratch her nose ;). This is CallingMarian with "Passing Out", which appears to be an original.

  1. Maybe she should be playing boogie!

Marian had me from the first strum - continuous smiles after that.

Her breathy voice kinda sounds like Claudine Longet, who was almost too cute for words, when she wasn't armed.

    Little Claudine Longet
Sat eating her curds and Whey.
Along came a Spider, who sat down beside her,
So she shot the son of a bitch.

    Cheers!

  2. She usually plays electronic euro-pop, but she hasn't figured out how to make a YouTube video of that yet. You'll have to go to her MySpace or Facebook for that. I guess she doesn't want to be just another girl with a guitar singing "cute" songs... more power to her, I say.

She sings really well, certainly better than most of the pop tarts who are at the top of the charts (with the exception of Lady Gaga, who can sing, when she wants to). I think she sounds better than Claudine Longet, who sounded more like a lisping child. A lisping Asian child. Sorry, just don't "get" why people listened to Claudine Longet...

And your long-ago colleague was evil. In a good way, I mean ;).
