Kaki King, "Sunnyside", off her album Junior. Uhm, Kaki is gay, as this song should clarify if you had any doubts. Not that it matters, other than the unexpected gender pronouns in certain places.

In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.
The religious right is motivated by the suspicion that someone, somewhere,
is having fun -- and that this must be stopped.

Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.
WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.

ReplyDeleteI have a number of options but they are all about the same price, so much for competition.
Of course I have the choice of no internut here and just going to the library for the free wifi.
She sounds so fragile.

That's just Kaki's voice, JzB. She's a small girl and has a small voice. But there isn't anything fragile about Kaki herself. She's one of the most together people I've ever encountered in the music business, a business notorious for the number of neurotic people who end up in it.
