Too true

During the first two years of the Obama administration the Republicans filibustered a record number of bills to keep Obama from passing his agenda. For the past year they've done their best to destroy the economy because they view that as the best chance to get Obama out of office. The needs of the American people have been nowhere on the Republican agenda.

  1. So true!

Why should we elect anyone who is willing to put the welfare of the American people second...if not third or fourth?

  2. Bernie Sanders gets it. I was Oogling around for a better analysis I read recently of the Repuke strategy of destroying everything to make the entire political system look bad, but I couldn't find it, and I read too much stuff to remember where I see some stuff. Basically, since their message is that "government is the problem," the more problems they create, the more people will turn away from government. And that will let corporations run rampant. WINNING! (Even though what they win is rulership of a shitheap, neoSomalia, population 300 million with more small arms.)

  3. Yeppers, Bukko, Bernie Sanders has "gotten it" for decades. But what use is that if nobody seems to listen?

  4. Remember the peacenik slogan from the 1960s: "Suppose they gave a war and nobody came?" Now it's "Suppose they told the truth and nobody listened?"

Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.

WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.
