I never heard of the Howling Bells when I lived Down Undathere. Maybe they were in London by then. Too bad. I would have enjoyed seeing them. This song seems heavily influenced "I Touch Myself" by the Divinyls, both in the singer's tone of voice and the overall dark, sexy aspect of the tune.
ReplyDelete(Warning -- link is not to the version you've probably seen too often for your own good, but to a more recent performance by an older Chrissie Amphlett. It's sorta like "I Touch My MILF.")
I can't wait to get some hi-speed back again. Quest can only manage 210kb where I'm at.
ReplyDeleteTheir name was "Waikiki" when they were Down Under, Bukko. They changed their name to "Howling Bells" when they moved to London.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, Juanita Stein oozes the sex appeal :).
One Fly, you have my sympathy dealing with Qworst.
