Well, I didn't make it to Costco. My leg started aching too bad to stand in line for thirty minutes so I decided to cut my trip short and head back home. So instead I went to the local Safeway and bought a pound of their whole-bean coffee. Muy loco! A pound of their french roast whole-bean coffee costs as much as the five-pound bag at Costco, and it sure as hell don't taste any better!
I'll just have to wait until I can handle the Costco checkout line. Or else swipe some beans from work. Ha ha, just kidding. If I swiped the beans from work, what would I drink at work?!

I feel your pain my feathered friend . When I was recovering from being crushed between two cars shopping was agony . I left many a full cart in the line . After finding my few needed items I was in too much pain to wait . Other shoppers too ! It's amazing how careless people are with those huge wheeled carts you really notice that when standing itself is an effort .

After my foot surgery I used the electric carts at Costco Santa Clara. It made shopping a lot easier and if you go when it isn't busy...
ReplyDeleteWhat I did notice was how rude people can be to those who aren't physically equipped to fight back. It made me want to run some people over. :)
Have you tried acupuncture for the pain? It really does help, if you go to the right person.
Deb, it doesn't hurt unless I stand on it for a long time. Well, the muscle is sore, but no more so than the day after a really harsh workout at the gym. But no pins-and-needles type pain unless I'm just standing in line or something. So it's not a good candidate for acupuncture.
ReplyDeleteI would probably have used the electric cart if I'd needed to go out before I could walk on the leg, but now that I can walk just fine (it's the standing that I can't do), I find it hard to justify.
