... and I feel fine.
But seriously. Yeah, the economy sucks, but my leg is almost back to normal. The muscle is pretty much back up to full strength now, flexibility is equal to the other leg, and only the slightest tenderness when I press on the place where it's finishing up healing. The injury itself was a textbook calf muscle strain and the healing is going textbook too. Not that I can go dancing or jumping on it or anything, it'll be another two months before I can really resume full vigorous activity because that's how long it'll take to finish healing and getting that junction between tendon and muscle back to full power, and for the rest of my life I'll have to be careful to warm up and stretch before doing any sort of vigorous activity or it'll just pull off the tendon again, but sure beats the alternative of not being able to walk at all...

Glad you're mending. Hope you get happy feet again soon.
ReplyDeleteThe times I've been hurt and on the mend slowly, I've always been thankful that I'm not a professional athlete with financial pressure to get back to super-straining whatever part it is before it's time. Or, for that matter, a subsistence farmer in some poor nation, or a refugee fleeing the forces of death or starvation. Those of us lucky enough to be born in Western societies, with adequate health care and enough economic surplus to heal properly, are among the most fortunate humans in the existence of our species.
