The party of security

From a newswire story subtitled "Congress embarks on spending spree" (ah, Republican fiscal conservatism!):

Before the final vote, Republicans defeated a Democratic effort to add $1.2 billion for domestic security programs, including $825 million for protecting ports.

Ah yes, the Republican Party is the party of national security indeedy...

  1. If you want republicans to vote for this, then you need to award all the contracts to Halliburton and remove any monetary caps on the contracts. Of course, this probably wouldn't help our security.
