Words fail. Nothing's left of Tarok Kolache in Afghanistan but bounced rubble.
Ah yes, the smell of napalm (and burned and/or rotting corpses) in the morning... it smells like VICTORY! Worked so well in Vietnam, didn't it?

ReplyDeleteYou're on the other side of the rock so why get too worked up about it.
Colonialism/Imperialism eventually, always, turns the colonizer into a morally-depraved, murderous beast. These people's heads are so far up their asses, they have no idea what they are doing, why they are doing it or what the point even is anymore. Idiots like this Broadwell person have to jump through increasingly tangled hoops attempting to justify the slaughter.
ReplyDeleteThey're reduced to the old canard "but, but, if you were there, you'd think differently." Which of course is exactly why civilians not there should be in charge, because being there warps their already fucked perspective even more.
It's unfortunate that empires more often crumble slowly rather than collapse suddenly, as it would be satisfying indeed to see people like Petraeus & Broadwell & their ilk strung up Mussolini-style, preferably after a long session of "enhanced interrogation."
