Working on da railroad

It is 12:05 and I have been writing emails and proposals to my team in That Big Country Overseas for the past four hours. I left the office at 7pm, and have been working here since 8pm getting things whipped into shape and communicating with the overseas team so that the overseas team can do what they need to do.

I have no life :-(. Yeah, outsourcing saves time and money. (SNORT!).

    If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

    Whatever, America is failing anyway, but I seem to be one of the few that sees that.

    Americans love denial, they think that things well self correct. Yeah, right, not this time I think.

    I've worked in IT since the early 80s. Every person I've known who has been involved in an outsourcing has said it's been a nightmare. Communication and cultural issues abound. It's very penny-wise and pound-foolish.

    I just have to deal with clients on both coasts, which generally means a 12 hour day.

    My brother was making conference calls with people in Europe and Asia for a while. Those got strange.

    Obviously the solution is more H-1Bs, or outsourcing by proxy as some of call it.
