Thought for the day

Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.
WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.

Actually, no the GOP would not really want to resurrect Reagan even if they could. Even though Republicans are constantly referring to him as if he were the Great Messiah, if Reagan were running as a Republican candidate in a current day election he would simply be far too "liberal" for today's rightards. The Republicans continue to shift more and more rightward with each passing year to the point that any voices of reason or moderates have been banished from the party long ago leaving the lunatics that you see today.
ReplyDeleteBut you're talking about *living* Ronald Reagan, while I'm talking about *embalmed* Ronald Reagan. The only thing *embalmed* Ronald Reagan says is whatever the ventriloquist operating his embalmed body says, and said ventriloquist would likely be called Grover Norquist.
