Uhm, yeah, that would do it. Alrighty, then!

In a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.
The religious right is motivated by the suspicion that someone, somewhere,
is having fun -- and that this must be stopped.

Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.
WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.

It just never ends with the GOP. There is no "off" switch. It just goes on and on, and on... and on... and on..... and on.
ReplyDeleteSome people will do anything to look like total assholes. Hell if I know why, though...
I always figured that if the billionaires and millionaires got off not paying their fair share in taxes, they should be required by law to support and patronize small mom & pop businesses, buy organic from local farms, install solar panels on their homes and/or put wind turbines on their properties if they have the space. Invest in local credit unions or community banks instead of the likes of HellsFargo and BofA, invest in socially responsible funds, and donate a lot of money to charities like Second Harvest Food Bank.
ReplyDeleteBasically, if you're not going to do the fair thing and invest in the rest of us by way of your income taxes, you'll need to do it directly. And the amount invested will be equal to what you would be paying out in taxes.
Shopping at businesses that sell sweat-shop labor produced goods is out. Shopping at Mall*Wart is out. Being a cheapskate is out. Doing good with your money and reinvesting it in the economy is required.
