Harumph!

Ground rules: Comments that consist solely of insults, fact-free talking points, are off-topic, or simply spam the same argument over and over will be deleted. The penguin is the only one allowed to be an ass here. All viewpoints, however, are welcomed, even if I disagree vehemently with you.
WARNING: You are entitled to create your own arguments, but you are NOT entitled to create your own facts. If you spew scientific denialism, or insist that the sky is purple, or otherwise insist that your made-up universe of pink unicorns and cotton candy trees is "real", well -- expect the banhammer.

One word Tux,
ReplyDeleteWordpress
:-)
Two words, Vince: Comment spam.
ReplyDeleteGot tired as hell of trying to stay ahead of the comment spammers the last time I ran my own blogging software on my own server. I occasionally get comment spammers on Blogger, but all I have to do is turn off anonymous posting for a few days and they go away. Besides, Blogspot is free.

I see you have a new avatar. Nice.
ReplyDeleteMe, I like the Minima Blue background I've had ever since I switched to Blogger. Suits me well. I'm sticking with HaloScan for comments, too. I don't get too many spammers. This might be because the state of Virginia has been cracking down on those assholes this year. No complaints from me...
Haloscan seems to do very well at dealing with the comment spammers too. If I did go with Wordpress for some gawdaweful reason, I'd probably hack it to disable the native comment system and use Haloscan instead. But comment spammers just killed me last time I tried running blogging software with its own comments system...

I liked the old look better, but it's human nature to prefer what one sees first. It's content that counts, not colour schemes.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm a totally dedicated BadTuxer, but have you gotten more politically strident and less playfully snarky? Not that there's anything wrong with that! A rational response to irrational times...
I go thru waves, me Bukko. If you want dark, you ought to see what I was posting immediately after GWB was selected for his second term...
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'll figure out how to hack my old lone-penguin pic into the header of the new template. Until then... (shrug). The new template does have one advantage. Since it's a standard Blogger template, if Blogger ever adds a new feature or anything, it'll slide right in.
